Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Parklands Motel & Apartments in Te Anau, I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious and newly renovated room, which provided a cozy retreat amid the snow-dusted scenery. The comfort of the ample seating area and kitchenette made it perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the breathtaking landscapes surrounding us. While I must admit the owner gave off an unfriendly vibe-definitely an odd contrast to the warm greetings from the lovely lady at the reception-it didn't overshadow our experience. The staff were incredibly accommodating, even waiting for our late check-in and treating us to a complimentary room upgrade, which felt like a cherry on top. As a food enthusiast, I appreciated the clean and fresh amenities that made our stay enjoyable. Plus, being just a stone's throw away from the lovely Te Anau Memorial Gardens and town center allowed us to enjoy local grocery shopping without hassle. Despite a Minor quirk with the owner, I'd recommend Parklands as a solid base for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the stunning beauty of New Zealand's Southern Lakes region.
